ICYMI: How Blogging Led to My Book

Carina Sitkus

It's been snowing here in Rhode Island (a lot), which has created the perfect conditions for writing and reflecting. And cabin fever. I've never been one for poo-pooing winter snow in favor of woo-hooing summer humidity, but I might be getting there...

Anyway, last week I published a reflective piece on Medium that detailed how one blog post helped me get over 11K views, which then led to getting reposted on popular sites like Business Insider and securing a contract for an ebook that will be published via Thought Catalog books this spring.

I'll continue to share my experiences, and I encourage you to do the same as part of our community. I'm particularly interested in hearing from those of you who have published in literary journals!  Email thecuriouscatproject@gmail.com if you'd like to share.

PS. For those of you interested in getting feedback on your work and joining our small writing groups, the deadline to apply is this Friday. Request an application here (it's really more of a survey and takes <8 minutes to complete).

Check out the snow, below!

This is what a plowed road looks like in snowy New England these days. At least it's beautiful!
